At her Vineyard Haven studio, Kate Altman teaches needlepoint and sewing in a relaxed, small-group setting. With over 30 years of experience and an eye for color, she helps students of all levels build skills, work at their own pace, and enjoy the process of making something by hand.

Classes are designed to be approachable and hands-on, with small groups gathered around a shared table, plenty of guidance, and time to settle into the rhythm of stitching. Most materials are provided, and while the studio isn’t a traditional shop, a thoughtfully curated selection of threads and supplies is available. Custom group experiences are also available.
